It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of dear daughter, sister, niece and friend Lisa Denine Elliott. Lisa descends from the Joseph/Trimble and Elliott/Bartleman families (Squamish, Nisga’a and Tsartlip First Nations). She was born on April 27, 1965 in Duncan, BC and died peacefully surrounded by love of family and friends on April 3, 2016 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver.
Lisa will be dearly missed by her mother Caroline Joseph (Peter); father Charles Elliott (Myrna); sisters Loreah, Holly, Taleetha (Junior), Nonnie, Cedar (Dion), Heather, Beangka (Jobie), Onya (Gabe); brother Charles; and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, loving relatives and dear friends.
Lisa’s message to family and friends would be to carry on our traditional teachings and strengthen yourself each and every day. Her best memories shared with sisters and brothers was the time she was able to have sobriety while practicing our spiritual beliefs and teachings. Lisa can best be remembered for her loving, beautiful, radiant smile that in the moment she entered a room it would light up.
A prayer service on April 8, 2016 (Friday) at 7:00 pm and a funeral service on April 9, 2016 (Saturday) at 10:00 am will be held at Chief Joe Mathias Centre, 100 Capilano Road, North Vancouver, BC. Online condolences may be sent to
