Our beloved Karen passed away peacefully on August 15, 2021, in Vancouver, British Columbia. She was born on January 21, 1961, in Hong Kong to Yeung Wai Ching and Chau Oi. She was the younger sister to Agnes, and older sister to Wendy.
She attended St. Paul’s Co-educational College in Hong Kong, from which she graduated in 1979. During her time there, she met and fell in love with Kenneth. They were married in 1982. Together, they immigrated to Canada in 1989, where they spent 4 years in Edmonton. Four years later, they moved and settled in Vancouver.
Karen has always been the pillar for her husband and three children. She was an integral part of Kenneth’s successful career as she organized, managed, and encouraged Kenneth’s business endeavours. At the same time, she raised their children to be strong, well-rounded and self-sufficient by making sure they participated in extracurricular activities and by instilling her morals and work ethic upon them.
During the past ten years, Karen actively participated in and promoted the activities of the British Columbia chapter of the St. Paul’s Co-educational College Alumni Association. Starting in 2013, she served as a director of the association and later in 2018, also as the President of the association. She helped organize several charity events and singing activities.
Karen is survived by her husband Kenneth, older sister and husband Agnes and Francis Chan, younger sister and husband Wendy and Eric Chan, her daughter and partner Jessie and Andréanne Scott-Boyer, son Jeffrey, daughter Lauraine, and grandson Alexandre. She loved everyone deeply.
Apart from our deep sorrow, we wish her infinite blessings in the heavenly kingdom.
