It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kaisu (Kay)Naugler ( Leppinen) in Vancouver, British Columbia on Thursday, July 11th, 2024 after a lengthy illness. She was born Kaisu Maria Tuuliki Leppinen in Finland on July 28, 1947 & lived there until her family emigrated to Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her husband Ken Naugler in May 2020, her parents Anni & Sulo Leppinen and sister Liisa Koski. She is survived by her siblings Seija Kant, Aila Klimtschuck, John Leppinen and Angie Webber all of Ontario. Her stepdaughters Jen Percy of Calgary, Alberta, Robyn Zeitler of Spring, Texas and her grandchildren Megan, Jax, Thomas and William. She was a beloved grandmother and friend. She was a favourite Aunt to several nieces & nephews in Ontario & Campbell River, BC & several cousins in Finland.
Kay was raised in Kirkland Lake,Ontario & dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked briefly in Ontario after graduating from Nursing School, until she moved to Vancouver & joined the Nursing staff at Mount St Joseph's Hospital. She spent the rest of her nursing career there and retired after 28 years.
She loved the outdoors & camping & her wanderlust brought her to Europe for several visits, to Reno, Nevada & of course Mexico, her favourite! She loved her shared driving trips with her husband, Ken, friends and sister Liisa- they always found a way to route through Las Vegas for a few days to play the slots. Always loving & generous , she will greatly missed by her family & friends .
