World Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion, James Walker “The Stalker” died in Vancouver, BC, Canada, on 9 July 2024 at the age of 70 years.
James was born 4 Oct 1953 in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada son of James Walker and Muriel Walker (nee Graham).
James lived in various places growing up, (due to his father being in the RCAF); Whitehorse, Germany, Edmonton, Gimli, Regina; and then Coquitlam and Vancouver, BC. As a young lad Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his Graham grandparents at the farm near Edgeley, Saskatchewan. Jimmy started in Judo in 1967, was a drummer in a Rock Band, a Black Belt in Karate, and an owner of the Panther Karate Studio in Edmonton. On the 8 Oct 1981 in Chicago, Ill., USA he became the first Canadian to hold the title of “World Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion”.
James is survived by one brother Glen of Regina, and numerous relatives and friends.
