Georgia Smith passed away peacefully in Burnaby on July 21, 2018 just three weeks shy of her 90th birthday. She is predeceased by her parents, her five brothers and one sister and her grandson, Robbie Keith.
She is survived by her daughter, Barb Keith (Bob) and her son, Lee Zenin (Joyce); grandchildren Kristi Savage (Chris) and their two children, Morgan and James; and grandsons Zack Zenin and Joshua Zenin.
Georgia was born in Rockglen, Saskatchewan and first came to Vancouver when she was 18 and fell in love with the city. She moved to Vancouver permanently in 1969 and later in life was a long-term resident of the West End.
Georgia traveled extensively, visiting Israel, Egypt, Hawaii and across Canada. She was an avid reader and enjoyed dancing. She also had a fondness for the music of Mario Lanza and Enrico Caruso.
She was an early adopter of the computer and loved to play games, particularly Mahjong. She also enjoyed word search puzzle books and was never without one. She was comfortable in her solitude and liked to be surrounded by pictures of her family.
Thank you to New Vista staff for the care they provided over the past two years.
There will be no service held at her request. Please limit acknowledgment to text and emails.
