Gail Sun Yin Leong

Gail is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Carl Leong, her four children Judy, Brenda (Michel) Harvey (Sonja) and Doug (Kelly). She leaves behind four grandchildren, Sophie, Aidan, Jade and Keira. She was predeceased by her parents as well as four older siblings Pony, Sarah, Jim and Jane all of Edmonton. She also leaves behind a great number of other family members and friends.

Gail was born in Canton, China coming to Canada as a young woman at the age of 17. She met and married Carl and they established a home in Calgary from 1957-2013. During that time, she and Carl enjoyed their vacations cruising to many destinations. In 2013 she and Carl moved to Vancouver to be closer to their children.

For much of her life, Gail worked with Carl in his grocery stores and other businesses. She also loved spending time with and preparing delicious meals for friends and family. Her generosity extended to everyone - always providing for others and putting their needs ahead of her own. She had a network of relatives and friends whom she spent time with for weekly coffee, playing mahjong or just gathering for meals.

Gail is at rest now and may her memory live on through all those that knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Senior Living who were of great help to her in the last weeks of her life.They would also like to thank the physicians involved in her care.
