Our beloved mom, grandmother and great grandmother has moved on to her next adventure after an incredible 101 years. Frankie Robinson, born September 26th, 1922 in Revelstoke, BC, passed away June 14, 2024, her positive spirit intact.
Predeceased by her husband Geoff, her son-in-law John McKenzie, her brother David Roberts and sister Susan Wehle, we all agree Frankie won the gene pool lottery. She excelled at most things she tried, with the exception of cooking.
Proud to be a longtime member of Mensa, world traveler Frankie was a Lecturer for eight years in the Department of Fine Arts at UBC, before operating her successful Asian antique store - Frankie Robinson Oriental Gallery (FROG) - for 17 years on South Granville. Always a gifted artist, she picked up her paint brushes again in 2006 and blessed us with dozens of treasured, colourful creations over the next decade.
Frankie will be sorely missed by her children, Michael Robinson (Lynn Webster), Wendy Armstrong (George Poulos), and Kelly McKenzie, her grandchildren Lance and Caitlin Robinson, Ashley Armstrong (Ryan Austin), Chelsea Armstrong (Ryan Landels), Tristan (Tara) Armstrong, and Meredith and Henry McKenzie, great grandchildren Graham, Harriet and Rhys Austin, Eliza and Maren Landels, Sofia and Isabel and soon-to-be-born baby Armstrong.
Many thanks to the kind souls who cared for her at Crofton Manor. Her life will be celebrated at a date yet to be determined. Our greatest takeaways from this extraordinary woman? "Seek out adventure, never be afraid of colour, and chat to every person you meet."
