Erik Michael D'Haene

The surviving siblings of Erik D'Haene are devastated by the news that our beloved youngest brother passed away August 17, 2020 from a drug overdose in Vancouver. He was 54. Erik was overwhelmed by the sexual and emotional abuse he experienced and never recovered. A short life trying to escape the past. He was handsome, witty, entertaining, could sing, draw pictures, wrote poems when he was younger. The pain we feel is undefinable. Erik will forever be in the hearts and minds of his brother Donald and his partner Maurice, sister Marina and her partner Lois of London, Ontario, brother Ronny and his wife Christina of Sarnia, Ontario and family. We pray there is something better than the life he had here. Donald has a seat at The Palace Theatre in London, Ontario dedicated in Erik's name. The D'Haene family want to acknowledge all the families who have experienced loss in similar circumstances. Unfortunately, their numbers are legion. May we all be kinder, more involved, less judgemental to those unfortunate souls who have lost their way.
