Dear Percy family, very sorry to learn of Eamonn's passing. Just a few months before I met him when he was working on his book 'Chaos to Order' and he let me help him with edits. I found his story very interesting, he was inspiring and a very kind person. Sincere condolences.

Eamonn hired me as a personal assistant for his consulting business in 2015. Back then, I was young and naive and we didn't see everything eye-to-eye. 

The two valuable lessons I did learn from him that I carry with me every day is treating the clients as people first and not just as a business opportunity. His compassion was the reason why so many clients loved and trusted him. 

The second was his dedication to consistency. I remember showing up to work every morning and Eamonn handing me a sheet of paper where I would fill out three things I am grateful for and then breaking down my goals for the month, to week, to the day. Breaking down large projects into smaller bite-sized tasks greatly helped my professional career. 

Fast forward eight years later. I, too, started a consulting business and wanted to reach out to him again to thank him for all the valuable lessons I learned from him during my time and found out about his passing.

It's a sad sad day. There are few people I enjoyed working with or getting to know as much as Eamonn. Such an intelligent and  thoughtful businessman, mentor and advisor with the highest integrity. He challenged himself and others to be the best they could be and we appreciated that.  I'm so sorry I didn't spend more time with him when I had the chance. I will miss you, Eamonn.  The world will miss you. 

Eamonn, Terry Hunter and myself were the three from BCIT who convinced ourselves to head to Thunder Bay Lakehead U and try our luck at becoming engineers.  Actually, Eamonn didn’t seem to need any convincing -  he seemed very sure of himself and his future - in fact his confidence inspired us to continue our education.  When Eamonn talked, we listened.
I always thought of Eamonn as being steadfast and true to himself.  Although we lost touch during our career years except for a couple of lunches, I still remember him vividly as a top notch person.  Solid. Authentic. One of the best.

My husband Blythe and myself have lived next door to Eamonn for many years.  As Blythe aged Eamonn became my go to person for advice and assistance with matters concerning the house and garden.  He was always so obliging, thorough and kind in giving me good advice.   A wonderful neighbour that I came to rely upon with great confidence.  We shared a common interest in the garden and it was fun for me assisting him in the development of his and Tina’s.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and his neighbour to the south!

We loved Eamonn dearly and he will be in our hearts forever.

Adjectives like integrity, intelligent, warm, thoughtful, insightful, humourous leave much to be desired in describing Eamonn but they will have to do.  Over many years I had the pleasure of interviewing  him on Moneytalks. His enthusiasm and passion for helping  people and businesses realize their potention was readily apparent. His advice to young people entering the job market or starting a business was invaluable, impacted so many and will live on in his writing. 
I worked with him on the Special Olympics board and can attest first hand to his determination to make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. 
As I said, adjectives like caring and committed don't do him justice. I am proud to have called  him a friend.  Like so many others, I will miss him deeply. 


We have been out of town and just heard the tragic news about Eamonn.  He has been a wonderful neighbour and friend for many years.  We enjoyed hearing about the achievements of his children Loreena, Katharine and Aidan who he adored.

To Eamonn's family please accept our deepest sympathy for his loss.

As a member of the Phoenix Breakfast Group I got to know Eamon quite  well. Eamon served on our executive and was our speaker chair for a couple of years. During this time Eamon was a hard worker for our group and we will all miss him, his contributions and stories. Our deepest condolences to the family.

My thoughts are with Eamonn's family. Myra, Loreena, Katharine and Aidan I am so, so sorry for your loss. Your dad was a really great man as I'm sure you must know.  He was a true friend to me as well. Always available to meet for a coffee and talk about life and life lessons.  He was generous with his time and resources. He met me at the cabin once and let me stay on my own for a retreat when I needed some time to recoup. If they say that you should surround yourself with the best people to become the best version of yourself, then Eamonn was certainly in the top of my list. I took the opportunity to be in his company when I could.  I wish you all strength, and to cherish your fondest memories.

To the Percy family: 
I am still in shock over learning of this tragedy, and my heart goes out to all of you for your loss. 

Although I had only known Eamonn for about 6-7 months, I have had the distinct pleasure of getting to know him more and more as we worked together on a startup of a public-company based venture destined for the US market. 

From initial meeting impressions, I would soon come to know that Eamonn was not only a person of impressive background and business stature, but also a warm and genuine person, a high caliber human being. 
I quickly felt that that turning to Eamonn was one of the better moves of my business career, and I was grateful and fortunate that he took an interest to get involved. 

The unexpected ‘find’ was getting to know each other on a personal level, and realize that we had a surprising number of common interests and values. 
It was gratifying to learn that we were on the same page on many issues, and we often commented on being able to work well together, and I think we both knew that it was the basis for a good partnership, and a growing friendship. 

I came to look forward to our ongoing Tues/Thurs am zoom meetings as the highlights of my week, and by the end of each meeting I was infused with constrained excitement as a result of our ‘imagineering’ sessions where Eamonn would flowchart everything into meticulous order for the next steps ahead. 

I’m at least happy to realize that he imparted some very valuable gems of information and wisdom, and that I could make make him laugh from time to time. 

Looking back, I regret that I never took the time to thank him for putting in so much of his time, and most importantly, believing in me. 
I will greatly miss Eamonn and think of him often. 
Again, my sincerest heartfelt condolences to your family - May his memory be a blessing.

Aside from Eamonn's mother and siblings, perhaps I have known Eamonn amongst the longest of all his friends. We first met around Grade 5 at Kerrisdale Elementary.  We have 50 years of shared laughs and memories. I am deeply saddened by this loss. My heart goes out to his family and in particular, to his children.

Losing a parent is never easy but having one taken so early and so suddenly is truly unbearable. May all of Eamonn's loved ones find peace and comfort in the happy memories in the days ahead. I will cherish the laughs I had with my friend always.

I first met Eamonn back in the 1980s, while we were co-workers at Ford Electronics Manufacturing in Toronto.  We both ended up moving out to BC, where we kept in touch periodically over the years. I bumped into him unexpectedly this summer while walking along the seawall in Qualicum Beach, and he looked happy and relaxed, and he introduced us to Tina.

Two things stick in my mind: Eamonn's unbeatable discipline and drive (ha, ha), and the time 30 years ago when he mentioned the quote from a John Lennon song, "Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans." I like to think that Eamonn took that to heart while living his life.

Eamonn was our cousin.
We met many moons ago when he came on a visit to London.
It was a joy to meet him after years of looking through beautiful family photos that our uncle Trevor had proudly showed us, it was nice to finally put a face to the name I often heard growing up. 

Uncle Trevor and my dad Charlie often spoke about Eamonn’s accomplishments in life, so proud he came from a creative, hardworking family. 

We want to send our love and condolences to you all and we pray as Eamonn makes his journey onwards to a better place.

Eamonn and I grew up together in Kerrisdale, Vancouver. We lived only a few blocks away from each other. Our friendship began in our early teens. We both attended Point Grey High School and 1st year of Langara College. Undecided on our career paths we travelled for 1 month, 11,000 miles on a Greyhound  bus across the US with a budget of $200 each. 
Sitting beside each other for this length of time we talked about everything! It was a crazy adventure that I will always cherish.

Just this past month Eamonn visited Toronto where I now live with my family, As usual we discussed everything. He was very happy and excited about his future. We had planned to do a weeklong hike together along the West Coast Trail next spring.

When you  have know someone for so long there is an irreplaceable  connection and bond. So many good memories.

Our love and prayers go out to the Percy family during this time of grief.  Eamonn was a great man, and we will truly miss him.

I was so very sorry to hear of Eamonn's passing and my heart is with his loved ones.  I met Eamonn and Myra through Irish dance circles and stayed connected through friendship with Myra, the kids at dance, and through our mutual affiliations with SVP Vancouver.  Eamonn always seemed a steady, observant and wise intellectual,  a visionary in his business pursuits and a caring father.  I know he will be dearly missed and my heart goes out to his children who have lost a dad far too early.   My sincerest condolences

I first met Eamonn and Myra when our sons were on the rowing team together.  They hosted a very inspiring and memorable event at their home for the young rowers.  I learned so much from them.   We cheered the boys on at regattas and other school events.  I was happy to see Eamonn's familiar face at the Globe Conference as he was very interested in clean energy.    Myra has continued to be a good friend.

My heart goes out to all of you for your loss.  I send you my deepest condolences during this difficult time.

We were so heartbroken to hear this dreadful news from over the pond. Sadly we never got the opportunity to meet your dad but it is clear from all that we have read and heard that he loved you so much and was so proud of each of you.

We met Eamonn when Loreena and Katharine became active in Irish dancing.  At a lovely dinner party hosted by Eamonn and Myra, we discovered that Eamonn had been a student in one of my dad's micro-electronics courses years prior.  Eamonn was a gracious host and an entertaining conversationalist.  He will be greatly missed by so many, but especially by his wonderful children, Loreena, Katharine, and Aidan.  Our hearts go out to you.

I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Eamonn’s unexpected passing. He was a great man of high integrity and deep family values who I very much admired. Although we never worked together directly, we met for coffee regularly for many years to discuss business, family and life. He was a mentor in many ways and I will miss his valuable advice. We are so terribly sorry to hear of Eamonn's sudden passing.  He was a kind, decent human being who was part of the St. George's parent group associated with Aidan. Eamonn was always incredibly generous with his time for the boys, driving my son Miles with Aidan to any number of activities, offering his guidance on a range of topics, his stories on driving out to ON as a student in a second hand car (Miles still talks about that!),  taking them on various day trips when at the cabin, etc.

Eammon was a business consultant/colleague who I met after he left Ballard Power.  He was bright, engaging, and caring, and an excellent consultant who helped many organizations.  He had a rare ability - to listen, ask quetions, and to understand.  He was a trusted advisor to many - corporately, and personally.

Eamonn and I shared a passion for writing; he was probably more successful at it than me—he and I were both self-published nonfiction authors. I'm pretty sure his 1% Solution outsold my efforts several fold. Nonetheless, he liked to check in with me on my  writing progress, always talked with me as an author-equal about the challenges of writing, both the writing process itself as well as the publishing/marketing side. I will miss his words and his counsel. Take care, Brian (another Irish descendant but from the wrong side of the northern border).

We remember Eamonn in his 20’s and 30’s.  Kevin went to Lakehead University with Eamonn and they were both from BC.  When Kevin and I started dating, he introduced me to Eamonn and Myra who was his girlfriend then.  We had some fun times, camping and skiing.  Lots of laughs.  We went to their wedding and they went to ours.  We had Eamonn and Myra be Godparents for our first daughter.  Through the years we heard of the births of Loreena, Katherine and Aidan.  We visited occasionally from the Toronto area  when we were in BC.  We heard the pride in Eamonn’s voice when he spoke of his girls doing Irish dancing and all three kids growing up nicely.  He will be missed by many.  Gone too soon.  RIP Eamonn.
