Born in Kent UK. Chris came to Canada as an infant and spent his entire life in BC. Chris is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Raeleen, sons Derrick, Patrick and Matthew (Kemi), as well as his brothers Mike (Nancy), Norman (Cheryl) and Russell. Chris loved his grandchildren immensely, Juliet, Jason and Deanna, as well as his many beautiful nieces and nephews. Chris was pre-deceased by his parents, Alexandria Wallner and Thomas Fowler as well as his sister Tracy (Hector).
Chris spent most of his working life as a truck driver for Friesen Brothers Fuels where he developed a talent as a highly skilled and safe driver. His co-workers and customers marveled and respected his abilities. This respect extended to all those that met him as he was always quick to help and did so with grace and unparalleled care.
He was usually the transport to countless hockey, soccer, baseball games and any other interests his children, grandchildren, or family needed.
Besides his love for cars, rock and roll and birds, Chris loved trying new things and took great interest in his family's genealogy and family heritage. He spent many hours researching and connecting with relatives, travelling east to Saskatchewan, returning home to the UK and most recently, Australia just to connect with family.
His family would like to thank the staff at both Burnaby Hospital and St. Michael's Hospice for their amazing care provided to Chris as he fought courageously over the past 6 months.
Please consider making a donation to St. Michael's Hospice in lieu of flowers.
