Can Xi Huang 黃灿熙, a brave, compassionate, and devoted individual, passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 75. Born and raised in Toisan, China, Can completed high school in Guangdong before moving to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he became a cherished member of the community.
Can worked at a Chinese restaurant before his retirement, where he was known for his dedication and hard work. He had a deep love for Cantonese opera and enjoyed playing mahjong with friends. Can was also a quiet and patient person, often reminding others to "think twice before you act."
He is survived by his loving spouse, Su E, his sons Jack and Steve, his daughter-in-law Amy, and many more grandchildren and families. Can's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. As he once said, "If there is a day we can't be together, put me in your heart, I will be there forever."
A visitation will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, located at 1835 E Hastings St, Vancouver, BC, on November 19, 2024, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will also take place at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel on November 20, 2024, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Can Xi Huang will be laid to rest at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby.
