It is with great sadness that the family of Alexander Iwanow announces his passing on January 8th, 2022 at the age of 75, after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Alex was born in Lodz , Poland on October 30th, 1946. He immigrated to Vancouver in 1963 at the age of 17. Shortly thereafter he began his lifelong trade as a cabinet maker until he retired at age 55. Capable and hard working, he operated his own successful carpentry business while also managing his real estate rentals.
Alex cherished his family and friends a great deal and he was loved in return for his kindness and generosity. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Christina, his surviving sisters Tatiana and Lila along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Canada and Poland. He is predeceased by his loving parents Natalia and Maxim Iwanow and by his sister Talcia Wieladek.
Traveling was always a passion for Alex. He and Christina took many trips to Poland, Hawaii, Mexico, Cuba, Las Vegas, Alaska and Arizona. They enjoyed their recreational property at Seymour Arms on Shuswap Lake where they regularly took their RV.
Alex liked to keep busy and had numerous hobbies, his favourites being boating, fishing, gardening and home improvements.
