Ronald Gary Robbins, 71, of Van Buren, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 in Sherwood. He was born April 11, 1953 in Richmond, KY to the late Stanley and Zelma (Hall) Robbins. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He had been a deputy sheriff, and a professional bull rider in the PBR. He was a great outdoorsman and had traveled to all 50 states.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Robbins; a granddaughter, Tiffany; a brother-in-law, Jackie Paxton; and his in-laws, Leroy and Dora Paxton.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Billie (Paxton) Robbins of the home; a daughter, Angela Swan and husband David of Campbell, NY; two granddaughters, Breanna of Pennsylvania and Stephanie of New York, and six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carol Paxton, Patricia Marquis and husband Corey, and Carolyn Paxton, all of Van Buren; an aunt, Hassie Wright of Mt. Juliet, TN; several nieces and nephews; his best friend, Ronnie Renfro and wife Kathy of Williamsburg, KY; and his dogs, Rebel and Jasper.
Funeral service will be 9:00 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2024 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Ben Hicks, Easton Stroud, Jesse Paxton, Jacob Marquis, Johnny Key, and Jesse Paxton, Jr. Ronnie Renfro will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
