Noble Clarence “Doc, Elvie” Elliff, 85, of Van Buren, died Sunday, November 26, 2023 peacefully at home. He was born November 16, 1938 in Gans, Oklahoma to the late Noble Clarence Elliff, Sr. and Juanita “Netah” Robinson. He married Lois Dell Pierce on February 25, 1958 and had one child, James. He worked at Arkhola Sand & Gravel and retired after 47 years of service. He was an avid musician. He sang, played guitar and bass in many bands over the years. He volunteered on the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad Excursion Train for 25 years where he entertained all the passengers with his guitar and shenanigans.
Doc is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Elliff, his son, James Elliff and his wife Corinne, grandchildren Raechel Elliff, Jonathan and Katie Watson, and great-granddaughter, Emily Watson.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be James Elliff, Mearl C. Pearcy, Bill Taylor, Jimmy Willis, and David Maxey.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
