Joseph J. Szuba, 86, of Van Buren, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 in Fort Smith. He was born March 17, 1931 in Cleveland, OH to the Joseph and Mary Szuba. He was retired from General Electric, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in the Air Defense Artillery branch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Szuba.
He is survived by three daughters, Debbie Thomas of Parma, OH, Christine Bacon and husband Denny of Mentor, OH, and Kimberly Szuba of Van Buren; two sons, Charles Szuba and wife Amy of Van Buren, and Richard Szuba of Parma, OH; a sister, Jenny Majeski of Parma Heights, OH; a brother, Leonard Szuba of Andover, OH; twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at New Life Pentecostal Church in Van Buren. Cremation will follow under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
