Jerry Redding, 81, of Alma, AR died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in Fort Smith. He was born May 10, 1931 in Fort Smith to the late Troy and Irene Redding. He was a retired Sr. Master Sergeant for the U.S. Air Force serving in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War; and was a retired manager for Brunswick Corp. and UPS in his civilian life. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Redding of the home; three daughters, Debbie Gunselman of Barling, Susan Hope, and Judy Johnston of Fort Smith; a stepdaughter, Michelle Brown of Rogers, AR; a son, David Redding of Van Buren; a stepson, Steven Brick of Minneapolis, MN; the mother of his children, Barbara Redding of Fort Smith; a sister, Suzy Lucht of Nebraska; a brother, Graeme Redding of Florida; fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Mr. Redding will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Graveside memorial service with Military Honors will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
