Jeanne Ebert, 73, of Van Buren, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in Fort Smith surrounded by family. She had battled illness for many years but has now found perfect healing and is home with her Lord and Savior. She was born November 5, 1950 in Blackwell, OK. She met and married Mike Ebert on August 25, 1967. Together, they were blessed with four children - Chris, Derry, Jonathan, and Micah. Jeanne's true calling and favorite role in life was being a devoted mother, loving wife, and cherished Gigi. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her love and wisdom into each moment spent with them. Whether it was making Rice Krispy treats, sour cream coffee cake, fried burritos, or cherry pies, she loved spoiling her loved ones. Her happiest moments were shopping with her grandkids, enjoying her beloved beach trips, and Diet Coke with Sonic ice.
Gigi will always be known for the way she prayed and loved God! She was bold in her faith and shared her love of Christ just by living her life. She had a contagious joy that could only come from the Lord and if she knew you, she cooked for you, she loved you, and prayed for you!
She is already missed terribly but there is joy in knowing there is no more pain, no more fears and no more suffering. We will see her again, until then we will carry on her legacy and share her love for Christ!
She was preceded in death by her father, Don Long; her mother, Joyce Ann (Moore) Allen; a son, Jonathan Ebert; a daughter, Micah Joy Hogan; and a brother, Richard Long.
She is survived by her husband, Pastor Mike Ebert of the home; sons, Chris and Heather Ebert of Van Buren, Derry and Brenda Ebert of Kokomo, IN, and Kendall and Jessica Hogan of Rudy; two sisters, Ann Davis of Chattanooga, TN, and Lynn Mitzel of Enid, OK; a brother, Don Allen of Richmond, VA; ten grandchildren (Kelsee Ebert, Wesley Walters, Hunter Hogan, Ethan Ebert, Haley Hogan, Rylee Ebert, Ethan Walters, Emily Hestand, Ethan Thrift, and Zoe Thrift) and four great-grandchildren (Brinkley Walters, Knox Walters, Jettson Hogan, and Micah Blair Hogan).
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at The Current Outreach Church – North Campus in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
The family will visit with friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, June 29 at the church at 2020 Dora Road, Van Buren.
