Jeanette Elkins

Jeanette Elkins, 87, of Van Buren, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Van Buren. She was born January 16, 1937, in Brundidge, Alabama, to the late Frank and Katie Lee Allen Phelps. She was a receptionist for Cooper Medical Clinic, and a member of Heritage Church in Van Buren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Elkins; her stepfather, Ellis Conyer; and three brothers, Edward Phelps, Frank Phelps, and Billy Phelps.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Elkins (Tim) of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Andrew Elkins (Brooke) of Fayetteville, Elise Elkins of Van Buren, Daniel Elkins (Mary) of Van Buren, and Michael Elkins (Stephanie) of Conway; five great-grandchildren, Dawson, Alyssa, Luke, Hannah, and Hailey Elkins; her horse, Kaci; and two dogs, Susy and Dixie.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Heritage Church in Van Buren with interment to follow at Old Union Cemetery in Magazine under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Elkins, Daniel Elkins, Michael Elkins, Elise Elkins, Bubba Arnold and Dan Tucker.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
