Janice Wells, 70, of the Shamrock Community, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Fort Smith. She was born October 20, 1947 in Liberty, OK to the late Henry and Mabel O’Neal. She was a schoolteacher for the Cedarville School District, a member and piano player for the Shamrock Community Church, and was a seamstress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack O’Neal.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Wells of the home; a daughter, Miranda Oliver and husband Steve of Roland; a son, Jeremy Wells and wife Alisha of Cedarville; a sister, Judy George and husband Eddie of Liberty, OK; three brothers, Ed O’Neal and wife Louella of Liberty, Bill O’Neal and wife Alma of Roland, and Andy O’Neal and wife Claretta of Roland; and two grandchildren, Lanae Wells and London Oliver.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Cedarville High School Gymnasium with interment to follow at Kimbler Cemetery in the Shamrock Community, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Josh Workman, Clifford Mongold, Danny Eversole, Randy Grayson, Keith Pipkins, and Danny Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Wells, Dustin Wells, David Wells, Jonathan Wells, Chris Wells, Jason O’Neal, Sheridan O’Neal, Aaron O’Neal, Stephen O’Neal, and Steve Oliver.
The family will visit with friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
