James Thompson Owens

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Owens; his parents, Ollie Mae (Barber) Kersch and husband Harold, and Earl Owens; a brother, Danny Owens; and sisters, Patsy Owens, Penny Owens, Jewel Shannon, Shirley Gray, and Helen Good.

He is survived by five daughters, Carlotta Willet (Tom Luster) of Mulberry, Patricia Bartlett (Dallas) of Mulberry; Cindy McKeown of Stigler, Lisa Owens (Thomas Marshall) of Mulberry, and Tammy Tindall (Mike) of Fort Smith; a sister, Florence Rust of Keota, OK; two brothers, Earl "Doc" Owens (Opal) of Pocola, and Roger Owens of Warner, OK; twelve grandchildren, Michael, Shari, James Patrick, Nathan, Braydon, Destine, Montana, Dakota, Kaitlyn, Thomas Nelson, Joseph, and Jacob; nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at New Cemetery in Mulberry, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Dallas Bartlett, James Patrick Bartlett, Braydon Bartlett, Nathan Bartlett, Tom Luster, Mike Tindall, Thomas Marshall, and Keith Robinson.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
