Grandma was always full of love and life.

I love you so much, my sweet Great Grandma 🩷

Well the time has come for my beautiful Great Grandmother to be back with my Great Grandfather. She was such a strong and amazing woman. My most treasured and special memories are growing up with her… having all of us cousins running around the house & watching Disney movies together in the back room.  Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the BEST Christmas parties ever! Sneaking in the kitchen late at night with my dad to steal some of her neapolitan  ice cream, always with a colored cone! Pretending I was a hairdresser in her green hairdresser chair… and just so many more memories that are forever engraved in my heart. As I got older and moved away I began to write her letters and cards because she loved to write and she would always send me a letter back. I loved getting those letters in the mail, and I’m so glad I held on to them. In the more recent years, I loved to visit with her and learn all about her life and where she grew up and learn about her family and her childhood.. she loved telling me old stories of her growing up, and I loved listening to them. Sometimes I would call my mom and she would say “I’m just at grandma Martins for the night, we’re getting outback steaks for dinner and watching game shows!” And I loved that they had those special times together. I could go on and on with memories I hold, but now one of the good memories I have is the last time I went to visit her. I had gone a few times recently and she would tell me how much she loved her apricot tree and wished they were in season because she just loved those apricots.. so the last time I went to visit her I brought her some ripe apricots and I got to watch her enjoy them and smile! I’m so thankful for those last precious moments I got to have with her. May she rest in peace.

Her generosity was contagious 
Everyone that knew her was better because of it.
 My grandmother, Virginia Nadine Martin, was brilliant and beautiful, courageous and full of light! 
she was to me a superhero, 
the queen, bee 🐝, 
the mother of all mothers. 

She told me about riding with grandpa kincade on the ranch, this is where he taught her the stars in the sky and explained to her about God, she said that is what stuck with her and made sense.

At a very young age, I watched her take care of my great grandma Vera. She Showed me that being a caregiver for your family was an honor and a privilege. 

The Martin house had a revolving door, it was open to everyone; neighbors, strangers, family and friends. 

My favorite memory is…. 
all of them, especially the ones that I didn’t understand until later. 

She always made you feel like you were the favorite. I know a few of you reading this probably thought you were the favorite, but it was me the whole time! 😆 

she could make you a tuna sandwich, and give you the courage to face what you needed to face and to do it well, just by sharing a memory of hers. 

When I was too afraid to kill black widows on her porch, she shared with me how she had to kill a rattle snake, with a hoe, at the age of seven.  

She never did it for you. 
She gave you the tools, so you could do it yourself, with the courage and the confidence that you needed to follow through and get it done.

The time she hunted, cleaned, cooked and fed all six babies with the quail behind the house. taught me to be the best mom I could be with what I had. 

If you knew My grandma,
you know her stories and you pull strength from them and do good with it. 

That’s what I hope to do until we are together again.

I have fond memories of her and the times we spent together. I remember when she used to cut my hair when I was a teen. I loved her frankness. And as an adult with children, I have a respect for all she was able to do as a mother and grandmother. No easy task :) If there is such a term, I would say she was my “Dutch Aunt” told it to you as it is and pulled no punches. My heart is filled with good memories and laughter from the times spent together. I know that she is in heaven with all of our family that has past before, having one hell of a party.

Grandma Ginny was such a kind hearted woman who had so much love to give. Anytime I went over to visit she always gave me a warm welcome and made me feel very loved and accepted. Our visits would consist of games of Yahtzee, cards and eating ice cream bars while watching movies. We would go through photo albums together and she would share such beautiful memories of her life with me.  I am so grateful to be a part of the wonderful family that she created and I’m so lucky I got to know her. I remember as a kid, we would have the biggest parties at Grandmas. The rooms were filled with laughter and joy, the adults played poker and pool while the kids played and there was always a cookie jar filled to the brim to be shared with everyone. All these small memories fill me with so much joy and I know that’s exactly what she wanted. She loved having all of her family in the same place, sharing love and laughter. I look up to her everyday and I hope to be like her 🩷 I love you so much gram gram, you will always be with me.

Grandma, you were such an amazing light and wonderful matriarch. It is such an honor to have had you in my life for 30 years. I admired your spunk, creativity, kindness and strength. You will be so greatly missed.

99 years and 12 days on this Earth. And despite the chaos of the world, my grandmother always kept enough space in her heart to shower me with love and acceptance.  We had a bond unlike any other. 
I will miss sharing about my adventures, which always seemed to remind you of your own. I reminisce on these moments with you, so grateful for the beautiful and sometimes vulnerable stories you would share with me. The joy that would light up in your eyes when you’d tell me some of your favorite memories is a part of you i will always admire. So much life you lived, and not a moment taken for granted. 
We felt safe and comfortable together. And shared so much love. I will continue to cherish these memories I have been so fortunate to have shared with you. I will always miss and love you Grandma Martin, thank you for the unconditional love you always expressed towards me.

Grandma always had a way to make you smile even if you weren't having the best day! One of my favorite memories is when we would play cards to keep her memory sharp it always had to be for money and she always said she forgot how to play , but somehow she would win every time..... you will be missed grandma I love you

I am so thankful that my mom found her sister and I got to  meet and share special times with my Aunt Ginny. Love and miss you always Aunt Ginny!

When I first came into the family over 20 yrs ago Gramma just took me into the fold like one of the lost kids on the block. I loved playing poker with her our WOW trips and celebrating Mother's Day with all the women in attendance.
I loved my visits (although not as often as I would have liked) with her when she would share the stories of her life. She had such an interesting life, such a strong woman and most of all a loving heart. Gramma Ginny I love you and I will miss your beautiful smile but you will always be in my heart. 🌹❤️
