Helen A. Rawson

Died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born in Milan, MO in 1921. She lived in Purdin, MO until second grade, when the family moved to Illinois. During the depression, they moved frequently, and she attended eight schools before graduating from West High School in Aurora III.

She worked in a five and dime, and developed film for a photography shop before becoming a bookkeeper. She moved to California in 1947 when she married Jack Rawson. She loved California, saying it is the best place on earth. She was a devout Christian whose faith marked her life, and whose kind and gentle spirit was apparent to all. She and Jack remained deeply in love throughout their 62 years marriage.

She is survived by her son, Richard Rawson of Lakeside, daughter Dorothy Fergon of Upland, and stepson Wayne Rawson of Upland who she loved as her own. Her three grandchildren are Brent Rawson, Layne Walker and Katy Fergon, and twin great granddaughters are Taryn and Blythe Walker.
