Dennis Mac Phetridge, age 72 died suddenly in Upland California on February 9, 2021. He is survived by his love of 33 years, Silvia. They had spent over 30 years making a home in Rancho Cucamonga. He was stepdad to her children, Ray and Karla and grandpa to Caden, Karla’s son.
Dennis was born in Glendale, CA, raised in Highland Park, CA before joining the US Navy in 1968. He was a Vietnam Veteran stationed aboard the USS Henry W Tucker until receiving an honorable discharge as a BT2 in 1972. His experience with as a Boilerman Technician gained him employment with Baxter HealthCare, Hyland division which ultimately lead to his moving into a position as hazard material driver transporting lifesaving medical product. He retired from Baxter in 2012 after 32 years of employment.
Dennis was an instigator of fun, had the best sense of humor and always used basic logic in dealing with any situation. He was known for his impeccable hair and perfect beard, unless he was riding his Harley, then all bets were off. He was a caring man, participating in many Toy Runs and Love Rides and supporting Disable American Veterans programs, he could be the center of attention but preferred to be behind the camera, was always good natured and loved being around family and friends just having a good time and there were many, many good times.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Julia, bother Bob and nephew Bobby, survived by his sister, Sue of Missouri, nieces Joi Lyn, Sue Anne, Dawn and Laura and nephews Jack and Laney, great niece Bobbi Lorraine and great nephew Jack and many more great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and Silvia’s family .
He was laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery on April 19, 2021, with a simple Military Ceremony and honored by the Patriot Guard Riders as our hero. Although Dennis will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him dos-er, he will live forever in our hearts and memories.
