She was born in Bakersfield, CA on September 8, 1935, as Betty Lou Chandler and moved to Ontario as a young child with her parents Raymond and Irene where she grew up. She was a graduate of Chaffey High School class of 1953, and she earned a business degree from Chaffey College. She met her future husband Samuel while they both worked at J.J. Newberry's department store in downtown Ontario. They were married for 51 years until his death in 2007. They had a house built in Upland where she resided for 65 years. Betty was a homemaker, raising two children Linda and Brian. She also helped her husband and son for 20 years with their country woodcrafts business. She enjoyed visiting her grandchildren in Texas. She liked collecting owls and doing yardwork while she was still able to do so. She also enjoyed word search puzzles and reading the daily newspaper. Her favorite TV programs were old movies, her daily soap opera, news programs, and football.
Betty is survived by her son Brian, who took care of her in her later years, and grandsons Steven and Chris of Friendswood, Texas.
