Sharon Wells (Kutz) passed away on December 2, 2013 at the age of 70. She was born on May 1st 1943 in Corpus Christi TX to Ethel and Datesmen Kutz. Sharon is survived by her husband of 50 years James Wells, children Robert Wells and Julia Burke, son in law Darren Burke, grandchildren Ashley and James Burke, sisters Ethel Anne Gaither, Marilyn Mostella, Janice Hutton, Phyllis Kutz and brother Bill Kutz, many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was a graduate of Roy Miller High School and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. She was also a graduate of University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She excelled in Chemistry, Trigonometry and calculus. Upon completing her degree, she went to work at the Methodist Hospital in the Medical Center as a Clinical Lab Scientist. At one time she was promoted to the job of Chief of Staff of Chemistry.
When she took the required test to be a registered medical lab technician she scored the fifth highest grade ever made in the nation. Sharon was also a magnificent cook and loved to read. Throughout her fight with cancer, she was always extremely nice to all of the doctors and nurses, caregivers. She never got depressed and never gave up. She died with dignity.
Special Thanks to our neighbor Evelyn Tarmon a retired nurse, who helped out tirelessly after Sharon was put on hospice care at home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
