Mary Ruth Epley

Mary Ruth Hawkins Epley passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Edward Hawkins and Mary Veda Key in Yuba, Bryan County, Oklahoma, her husband Harvey Curtis Epley on Feb. 8, 2014; her daughter Mary Louise Fisher on August 8, 2015 and her grandson Michael OG Aultman on April 28, 2009. She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Aultman and husband John of Kyle, TX; Sons Benny R. and Larry W. McGehee of Eufaula, OK; and Lydia L. Huff and husband Jim of Universal City, TX. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren along with Gloria Hankey her niece and several other nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Yuba, OK and was able to live all over the world following her husband’s military service career. She worked for Civil Services 2 Sep 1947 to 29 Dec 1989. She enjoyed her family, singing in church Choirs, traveling, fishing, a good joke, the Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys and was continuously engaged in Church activities, including serving with her husband on two missions and as a volunteer at the Dallas and San Antonio Texas Temples.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 26 October 2021 from 6-8pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd., Universal City, TX 78148. The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:00 am – October 27, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 13201 Forum Road, Universal City, TX 78148. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218.
