Heaven gained a special soul early Sunday morning, August 23rd, 2015. Jennie Stanonik Taylor, born April 9, 1915 from Waukegan, Illinois was blessed with a long life, believed in the Lord and recently celebrated her l00th birthday on the San Antonio River with a barge cruise and surrounded by those who loved her. Preceded in death by her husband of seventy five years, James V. Taylor, she worked hard after living through the depression, never took for granted a meal, enjoyed travel, owned their own private airport and most of all was known for remembering others and making them feel special. After a career in hospital management Jennie volunteered at Northeast Baptist Hospital for ten years making an impression on all she met. She is survived by her three children, Barbara Bartlett, Beatrice Butcher and James
Taylor, in addition to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special thank you to her friends and also, WellMed, Dr. Saleem and staff and Optum Hospice Care who all made her feel very special. Visitation with a Service of Blessing will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 3:00 P.M. until 4 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home.
