In Loving Memory of “La Mama”
On February 12, 2023, our beloved Mother, Gloria, was called to be with the Lord at the age of 86. Born in Laredo, Texas, Gloria started working at the age of 16 during a time when women did not usually work out of the home. After graduating early from Martin High School, she worked at the Laredo Times where she met her lifelong husband of over 60 years. Gloria started her federal service career as a civil servant working at the Laredo Air Force Base. In 1973, when the air force base was closed, the family moved to San Antonio, Texas. Gloria continued her federal service career as a supervisor with the Department of Defense at Fort Sam Houston within the Patient Administration Services and Biostatistics Activity, QBS Branch. Her office staff provided for the Army worldwide statistics, until she retired with over 30 years of federal service.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ildefonzo Rodriguez, her parents, Carlos Alonzo Campos and Manuela Bonugli Campos, and siblings: Arturo B. Campos (Petra Tijerina), Ana Maria Campos Olszewski (Oscar Olszewski), Carlos Campos Jr., Manuel (Memito) Campos. She is survived by her loving children: Belinda Rodriguez (Mark Stanish), Ana Kesler, Melissa South (Scott South), lldefonzo Rodriguez Jr, and Cynthia Kauffman; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and sibling, Diana Campos Guajardo (Juan Rafael Guajardo).
SERVICES
Visitation: Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas 78148.
Funeral Mass/Reception: Monday, March 13, 2023 beginning at 10:30 AM, location is Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (OLPH), 16075 North Evans Rd., Selma, Texas 78154. Reception immediately following the Mass.
Interment service will follow from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78209.
