Dallas Ray Yeager age 88, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Hamlin West Virginia June 5, 1936. Ray often spoke about his upbringing and enjoyed the simple country life and peaceful surroundings. After graduating high school he enlisted in the Air Force on August 18, 1954. Ray proudly served his country for 25 years attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He received numerous awards and medals. He loved his country. His career allowed him to visit and live across the world. He served 8 tours (3) Korea, Turkey, Okinawa Japan, Pakistan, Taiwan and, Alaska. Ray left many cherished memories of stories he told during his tours and accomplishments. He was honorably discharged from service on May 1, 1979. His retirement was short lived 2 months after he accepted a remote Job for RCA taking him back to Alaska. He worked 5 years then permanently retired on June 2, 1984.
Ray met the love of his life Ernestina (baby) Cruz while visiting Laredo, Texas. He always said “it was love at first sight“. They married on August 18, 1960 then she would join him across the world. In 1974 they established a life and loving home in San Antonio, Texas .
He was a devoted husband. He was a loving, kind, respectful and, generous man. He loved spending time with family and his dog Cody. He enjoyed holidays, eating out, and barbecue’s in his backyard.
Ray was grateful for life and was determined to live life to the fullest! He is loved and will greatly be missed!

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ernestina C Yeager, parents Homer and Laura Jane (Mullins) Yeager, his brothers Charles Yeager, and Dennis G Yeager.
He is survived by his beloved dog Cody, his niece Melissa (Jim) Rodriguez and family, his brother Lyle (Sandy) Yeager and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Dallas will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A committal service with Military Honors will begin at 11:00am Friday, August 2, 2024 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #1, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
