Suzanne was born February 5, 1955 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Nancy Jane (Dickson) and David Raymond Lake.
Suzanne (Suzie) attended a special educational program at Mount Saint Mary’s in Watchung, New Jersey.
Suzie did not let her disabilities hold her back from competing in New Jersey Special Olympics, horseback riding, skating, dancing, swimming, having a job and traveling. Suzie loved listening to music, and watching daily soap operas. She had a gentle kind spirit and enjoyed a good conversation.
Raised in New Jersey, she moved with her mom to Greensboro, North Carolina as a middle-aged adult. During her cousin’s visits Suzie stayed with them in the hotel, making their time together into mini vacations, shopping for her favorite purses, wallets, shoes and clothes. Suzie enjoyed her favorite foods and talking while dining out with family.
As a young adult, she traveled to the Holy land, giving her wonderful memories and a deeper meaning of faith. Suzie’s faith was very important to her and gave her the strength to over-come daily challenges.
Suzie will be deeply missed by her cousins and Aunt Winnie.
Rest in peace sweet Suzie, thank you for all your love, you were truly special.
