Dorothy was born in New York City in 1924. A graduate of Julia Richmond High School, Dorothy worked for Western Electric as a clerk for eighteen years before marrying and moving to New Jersey in 1960.
Dorothy loved to dance and attended the Arthur Murray Dance studios in Manhattan, where she met her husband August. Dorothy was also an avid bowler and a member for more than thirty-five years of the UCRA Bowling League, which raised money to support the ARC of Union County. Over the years she bowled several 200 games. Dorothy also loved to travel with her family. Some of her favorite trips include several trips to Italy, annual bus trips with the church seniors to Woodlock Pines, and yearly family vacations in Wildwood Crest. She also enjoyed TV and was a devoted fan of General Hospital for 40+ years.
Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Anna and William Mamola, her husband August and her sister Helen. She is survived by her loving children Patricia, Andrea and William Milo and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, NJ on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1000 N. Broad Street, Hillside, NJ on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:30am. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Newark, NJ.
