Dominick Anthony Stancati, 89, of Union City passed away on Saturday 12/13/14. He was born in Jersey City and lived in Union City since 1935. He was a Supervisor for Hartz Mountain Industries in Harrison for over 25 years before retiring. Dominick served as a Sea Bee in the Navy during World War II stationed in the South Pacific. He was a longtime member of Sts. Joseph and Michael Parish and the St. Joseph’s Catholic Club.
Dominick was the beloved husband of Candida “Candy” Stancati (nee. D’Amico) and the devoted father of Joseph Stancati and Juliana Stancati Bodner. He was the dear father in law of Marlene Penza Stancati and the late Dr. Alan Bodner. He was the loving grandfather of Melissa Stancati Blum and husband Brian and Krista Stancati Crumrine and husband Matthew as well as the great grandfather of Maggie and Kaitlyn Blum and Gregory and Nicholas Crumrine. He was also the dear brother of the late Frank Stancati, Anna Molinari and Angelo Stancati. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be on Wednesday 12/17/14 at 9:30am from the Leber Funeral Home then to Sts. Joseph and Michael Church where at 10:30am a mass will be offered. The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The visitation will be on Tuesday 12/16/14 from 3 to 8pm.
