Rose Mary Ward

She was the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Shinn who predeceased her along with her brother James Shinn. She is survived by her husband Stanley Ward Jr. of 61 years, Daughter Michele Ward Benza (Donald) of Canterbury, CT and grandchildren Timothy Benza (Sarah) Carver, MA and Daniel Benza of Taunton, MA and Brother Paul Shinn (Carol) of Mystic, CT along with many cousins.

Rose Mary grew up in Groton and graduated from Fitch High School, out of high school she went to work at Traystman and Traystman Law Firm of New London where she was the Office Manager for over 50 years. Rose Mary was Vice President of the Association of Legal Secretaries in CT. Rose Mary was also an active member of Groton First Congregational Church where she held many positions to support her beliefs and the church. Rose Mary had many hobbies but most importantly spent time with her extended family.

There will be a celebration of life at the Montville Polish Club in January (Date TBD) along with a memorial service at Groton Congregational Church.
