Daniel graduated from Montville High School in 2000 where he was a CIAC state champion wrestler, and a standout football player. As a youth he was a Boy Scout, making the rank of Life Scout. He also served as an altar server at Our Lady of the Lakes church. He had a passion for Notre Dame football, UConn basketball, the Dodgers and the G-Men. He earned his Bachelor’s degree, majoring in history at ECSU and a Master Degree at the University of New Haven. Dan’s worked lifelong, as a financial aid director at numerous universities and colleges. Dan enjoyed traveling the US and visited numerous countries in his life. Wherever he traveled, he met new friends. He enjoyed dabbling in the kitchen and was never afraid to try his hand at a new recipe. Dan was a dedicated outdoorsman, avid gardener, loved a good game of Trivial Pursuit and was a Jeopardy purist. His infectious smile, quick wit and kind hearted nature, will be forever missed.
Besides his loving parents, he is survived by his sister Elizabeth Booth and her husband Jeremy of Oakdale, step mother Kylie Brewer of Norwich, brother Jeffrey Brewer of Norwich, paternal grandmother Joan Brewer, aunt and godmother, Nancy Smigiel and her husband Mark of Norwich, aunt Diane Lyon and husband Todd of Canterbury and his godchild and niece Hannah Booth. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather Ronald Brewer and maternal grandparents John and Bernice Paroza.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 12th at 10 AM, at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 752 Norwich-Salem Turnpike, Oakdale. A private burial for family and his closest friends will immediately follow at Comstock Cemetery, Depot Road in Uncasville.
