Tomasa Campos Martinez, age 61, of Tyler, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, November 25, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Tomasa was born on September 22, 1952 in Nueva Leon, Mexico to Ruperto and Paula Campos; they preceded her in death. Tomasa loved the Lord and spent much of her time at her church. She attended the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler. When she was not at church, Tomasa would often be found working in her yard, taking pictures, or cooking for her beloved family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Tomasa is survived by children, Juan Martinez, Sr. and wife Tammy, Leticia Alvarez and husband Rigoberto, Ludivina Martinez, Julian C. Martinez, Jasinto Martinez and wife Areli, all of Tyler, and Tiodora Martinez of San Juan, Texas; two brothers, Cresensiano Campos of Mexico, and Lucio Campos, Sr. and wife Margie, of Lindale; one sister, Teodora Olivarez of Edinburg, Texas; grandchildren, Cordero, Dakota, Juan Jr., Victor Jr., David, Christopher, Adam, Adrian, Daniel, Rigo Jr., Mark, Tanya, Maria, Jasinto Jr., Anysia, Julian, Isaiah, Miguel, Damien, and Diego; and by great-grandchildren, Hayden, MaKenzie, Gabriel, Mia, Gabriella, Dakota Jr., Jaybee, Jazlyn, Fabian, Elisa, Yeleini, and Mark Jr.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Inocencio Martinez, and by one daughter, Zenaida Castillo.
Services for Tomasa Martinez will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. A rosary service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
