Stuart Edward Boswank, age 86, of Quitman, Texas passed away peacefully in Tyler, Texas on March 18, 2022. Stuart was born in Waco, Texas to Edward Albert and Evelyn Taylor Boswank on December 4, 1935.
Stuart graduated from Waco High School and attended Tarleton State University. He spent most of his professional career as an Agency Manager for Texas Farm Bureau Insurance in Kirbyville, Texas until his retirement when he moved to Quitman, Texas. During his career, he earned numerous awards in recognition of his accomplishments.
As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting near and far, including trips to Alaska and Canada. Woodworking was another one of his passions, and he spent hours in his shop making church crafts and Christmas projects for his children and grandchildren.
He was an active leader at Liberty United Methodist Church, and he was always one of the first to volunteer wherever needed, including sunrise services and fundraising projects. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and being on the “farm” that he loved so much.
Stuart is survived by his son, Steve Boswank and wife Marcia of Quitman; daughter, Kim Boswank Hilman and husband John of DeSoto; daughter, Karen Hatley Seals and husband Robert of Porter; daughter-in-law, Paula Hatley Beazley and husband Ken of Burleson; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Stuart was preceded in death by wife, Shirley Hatley Boswank; wife, Renee Blackmon Boswank; son, Larry Hatley; grandson Mark Boswank; father Eddie Boswank; and mother Evelyn Boswank.
Serving as pallbearers are Cory Seals, Britt Seals, Payden Seals, Corbin Seals, Joshua Hilman and Chris Shelton.
A memorial service for Stuart will be held on March 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church in Quitman, officiated by Mike Kline.
