at Lloyd James Funeral Home in the chapel in Tyler. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family after the graveside service at Tom and Gayle Tunnell's home at 2824 South Donnybrook.
A family visitation will be at Lloyd James Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
She was born on April 27, 1914 to parents Ebb and Ada Hughes, and she
died on November 18, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cleone and brother
Ebb. She was married for 70 years to Glover Tunnell and he, along with son Jim Tunnell, also preceded
her in death.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was lovingly known as Dede by her family. Her
church was a very important part of her life. She has been a member of Marvin United Methodist
Church since 1930, she was a charter member of the Century Sunday School Class and served for
decades as the editor of the Century Class Chatter.
She is survived by son Tom Tunnell and wife Gayle of Tyler and daughter Ann Shoffstall and her
husband Bob of Fairview, TX; sister Marjorie Smith of Tyler; four grandchildren and their spouses: Kim
and Jim Caylor of Bentonville, AR; Kelly and Marty Schraer of Boise, 10; David and Robyn Shoffstall of
Poland, OH; Diane Shoffstall of McKinney, TX. and eight great-grandchildren.
