Rita Faye Kidd. 75, a lifelong resident of Tyler, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior with her family by her side on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Kidd is survived by her children, Laura McCaslin and her husband, Richard, Craig Kidd and his wife Tommie, Donna Brooks and her husband, Harold, Kim Clark and her husband, Tony. Grandchildren, Brandon Kidd, Maegan Brooks, Amy Phillips, Amber Brooks, Jacob McGlaun, Cally Groholski, Joe McGlaun and great grandchildren, Garrett, Jamie, Flyn, Sadie, and Lyla, sister: Neva Tyler and husband Robert of McKinney, brother: Lawrence Melton and wife: Shirley of Dallas, TX, sister: Ginger Kennedy of Tyler and Linda Carpenter of Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, June Guerin and Lawrence Melton, brother, Larry Melton, son-in-law, Greg McGlaun and grandson, Caleb McCaslin.
Rita retired from Carrier Air Corp. in 2006, where she spent 35 years building long-lasting friendship with her co-workers. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Bullard Chapter, No. 972. For the past 26 years she has been a member of The Lighthouse Church in Liberty City where she was known for demonstrating to all what it meant to humbly serve God. Many have been blessed by her generosity. She had a thankful heart in all things. She enjoyed playing 42 with friends and family and enjoyed dancing. She has an eye for photo-tography and in her younger years, took Photography at TJC.
In her battle with cancer, she fought with courage and prayer. Her children describe here as a praying mother. Always there to pray with anyone who was in need. She had a genuine love for people and they loved her back.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, October 28, 2016 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 Highway 64 West, Tyler. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Tyler Metro Church, 14196 Highway 110 South, Whitehouse: with Pastor Jake Wommer officiating. Interment will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
