I love all of you so much!! I just want to wrap my arms around all of y'all and not let go. It seems like when you let go, someone else is called home. I love you.

Mr. Ivy was our neighbor. Every morning I would stop at the stop sign at Pinecrest and there he was either sitting in his driveway watching his precious little white dog or piddling around in his immaculate yard. He always started my day off well by waving at me. He will truly be missed and we will keep the whole family in our thoughts and prayers.

I have know Richard before his older daughters Dee Dee and Randi were born. He was one of a kind.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Will miss Mr. Ivy & his sweet dog "Little Bit". He always would bring his sweet dog with him when he came to his doctor 8:00 doctor appts & we would have the best conversations about our dogs. My prayers are with his family during this time of great loss. ~Brenda Collins, Tyler,Texas

Richard was our neighbor and he was such a nice man. He greeted us the first day we moved into our house. He loved his yard, I would always see him working on it. His dog "Little Bit" loved to come over and play with my kids. Mr. Ivy told me just the other day that Little Bit knows my car and is always looking out the door waiting for the kids to come home :) Prayers are with your family and so sorry for your loss.

 He always had a light hearted sense of humor when I would see him around town. Never seemed to meet a stranger. Seems like there are less and less of his kind around anymore. He will be missed.

Mr. Ivy will be missed around our neighborhood. He was friendly helpful and all around sweet man. He ALWAYS spoke to everyone when he was out with his sweet dogs and doing his yard work.

I remember a lot from my childhood with uncle Richard.   He was always there for you if you needed him.   RIP, Richard.

Richard Ivy was one of a kind. I spent a lot of time in his home during my childhood. I not only spent almost every weekend at his house with his youngest daughter, Beth, but also weeknights much of the time. At that age, Richard was the only single-father that I knew. Looking back as an adult, it was impressive. He ran the house with a firm hand, but also with love. He kept us fed (overfed sometimes) and was always willing to take us to this or that event.  Beth and I were able to find creative ways around his rules and he never let me forget about that, even up to November of last year-which was the last time I got to see him.
Richard was the "realest"  person that I have ever known. There was no putting on any facades-Richard was himself no matter where he was. Richard's laugh was another of his traits that is memorable. He laughed a lot and he laughed loud. Several times as an adult I would be somewhere (a store, a community event or even a funeral) and I would hear that laugh. I would look around and the next aisle over, or across the stadium and there would be Richard. Every time he saw me, he would give me a hard time (in jest), but I never had to guess if Richard Ivy cared about me. Each time that we parted, no matter where we were-he pulled me into a tight side-hug, gave me a kiss on the cheek and said, "Love ya girl!". Richard Ivy will never be forgotten in my life-his blustering, his joking, his laugh and his love ❤
