He was born on August 22, 1959 in Tyler to Wendell and Ruth Ward. He joined the Tyler Police Department in 1980. He was a patrol officer, crime scene investigator, vehicle accident investigator, and was proud to be on the Police Department Honor Guard. He retired from the Tyler Police Department in 2003 and went on to work security at Mother Frances Hospital and UT Tyler Hospital. He finally retired in 2022. He married Karen Lyn Foreman in 2001 and was a loving and wonderful husband. Paul loved to read, make interesting drawings, and collected comics, airplane models, and police badges, among other things, and never missed a Longhorn football game if he could help it. He will always be remembered as a good, honest, loyal, moral, and Christian man.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Ruth Ward, and his sister, Paula Ward. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lyn Ward, and numerous relatives.
A memorial service will be held December 18, 2024 at 2:00PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home at 1011 E 1st St, Tyler, TX 75701.
