Mary Louise Lancaster age 87 of Monument, Colorado, formerly of Tyler, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2023. Mary was born in Quitman Texas on March 17, 1936. She was raised by her mother, Belle Wilder Clanton and her Maternal Grandparents she called Momma and Pappa.
After graduating from Quitman High School, Mary moved to Tyler, Texas. She married Robert (Bob)
Lancaster in 1960. While her three children were young, Mary dedicated her time to taking care of her children and their home. Once her children were in school, Mary worked for Coca Cola Bottling Company for 25 years. After retirement, she devoted her time to her husband, her children, and her beloved grandchildren as well as to reading and becoming closer to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mary spent her final years in Mineola, Texas and Monument Colorado. Her daughter-in-law, Gina Lancaster, her daughter, Denise Miller, and an amazing team of Hospice Workers provided love and care to her as she aged.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; Mother, Belle Wilder Clanton, and several of her cousins who she remained close to during her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Debra Lynn Lancaster and her husband, Seth Van Dyken; son, Robert Murray Lancaster and his wife Gina; daughter, Denise Elaine Miller and her husband, Brian; 3 grandsons, Ken Holland, Cody Lancaster, and Joel Griffin; 2 granddaughters, Crissy Liles and Emily Wreath; 7 great-grandsons, Kenny Holland III, Willy Holland, Joshua Holland, Tapley Holland, Darian Isham, Keiston Ross, Mack Ross Jr., and Grayson Lancaster; 1 great-granddaughter, Rylee Lancaster; 2 great-great-grandsons, Charlie Jones and Max Isham; sister-in-law, Betty Gills, and many other relatives including cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Chapel of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will occur Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, followed by the graveside service at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery.
