Marina Perez was born in Mexico on January 12, 1952. She was a woman who fought for what she needed and wanted until the end. Her faith in God kept her going until God called her home. Marina was a loving wife to Julio Perez for fifty-one years. She was a wonderful mother to all eight of her children. She was an extraordinary grandma/ Tata/ bilita and/or Tita to twenty-two grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Marina migrated to Texas in 1984 along with her husband and six children, where they settled in Tyler. Marina worked several jobs while raising her children. She was the queen of tamales. Marina made the best tamales ever. She loved the kitchen and knew we all loved her food. In her life journey, she faced many obstacles and many illnesses and in spite of these, she lived life with a generous and giving heart. Marina went home peacefully surrounded by family. She will be missed but we delight in the Lord because she now dwells with him. Marina was preceded in death by her loving husband Julio Perez, daughter Maria Castillo, son Julio Perez Jr, parents Felipe and Maurina Carreon and two siblings Porfirio Carreon and Agapita Martínez.
She is survived by seven of her children: Juan (Eugenia) Perez, Maria (Edmundo) Hernandez, (Daniel Castillo), Angelica (Flavio) Martinez, Francisca (Oscar) Perdomo, Alejandrina Pérez (Omar Hernández) Joe Pérez, Rebecca Perez. Twenty-two grandchildren: Elias, Joanna and Christy Perez. Daniel, Ismael, and Kayla Hernandez. Daniel, Daniz, and Marilú Castillo. Belen, Julissa, Marcela, and Zurijah Martinez. Tiffany, Emily, Oscar jr, and Mateo Perdomo. Lysandra, Joel, Ashley, and Chris Pérez, Albert and Aliyah Kelly. Plus ten great grandchildren, Ej and Eliana Pérez. Adrian, Flavio, and Adalynn Tremillo. Addison and Ivy Putnam. Khloe and Lorenzo Martinez. Kai Perez.
A visitation for Marina will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Tyler Tabernacle Church, 3115 E. 5th St., Tyler, Texas. Burial will be at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.
