Lura White

Graveside services for Mrs. Lura Irene White, 91 of Tyler will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Whitehouse Cemetery with Rev. Mike Blumn officiating, under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mrs. White passed away on September 2, 2023 in Tyler. She was born September 9, 1931 in Tyler to the late Early Jack White and Sally Mildred Lee White. She worked for D.K. Caldwell Foundation and the Caldwell Zoo for many years doing construction, remodeling. She was instrumental in part of the building and completion of some of the enclosures at the Zoo. She loved the outdoors and camping with family. She also loved hunting and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by siblings, sister, Mary Frances and husband, Willie Lee Jennings, sister, Jenette and husband, Jimmy Kendall, and sister, Geneva and husband, Johnny Fails.

Survivors include brother, Wayne and wife, Nina White; many nieces and nephews and their spouses, James and Fredda Jennings, Billy Joe Jennings, Wayne and Debbie Kendall, Rebecca and Art Corona, Kelly White and Kevin and Glenda White; Several great-nieces and great-nephews.
