Ken loved a good story. A yarn. A tall tale. He always said, "never let the facts get in the way of a good story". He wrote hilarious children's books and knew at least a million jokes. He was making us laugh out loud right up to the end. His last attempt at living was to try to get out of his death bed because he was late delivering comic strips. He loved to laugh almost as much as he loved his beautiful wives. Married first to Iris; Ken danced, and laughed, and had 3 beautiful children. After tragedy stole his young wife, and left him a widower, he met and married his second wife, Marilyn. It took Ken and Marilyn 3 entire months to make it from "my name is" to "I do". Theirs was a love affair that should have been the center of epic poetry, but alas his obituary, and an award-winning newspaper article submitted by Ken, are their only ode to a love well lived. Ken and Marilyn had two more children, and made one loving family from two. Ken made a life serving others: beginning with two loved wives, and then to raising a bunch of awesome children, to serving years of volunteer work at his local senior center, Wilderness on Wheels, his Catholic parish, and his beloved Knights of Columbus, among others. He loved (eating) home cooking, carving a work of art, working a crowd, and children - his own, and the grands. Ken served 20 years in the United States air force, and then pursued a second career in the oil and gas industry. He did not believe in spoiling anyone but his wife. He was able to spend his retirement years traveling and enjoying the fruits of his labor with his bride of 56 years, Marilyn. He hated water, unless it came from Colorado packaged in a Coors Light bottle. He hated bitter tastes: coffee without sugar, Brussel sprouts, and morphine near the end. He wasn't a big fan of bitter people either, and would want us, and you, to be "better than triplets".
