Julie was a devoted wife, mother, and friend who enjoyed camping, photography, arts, crafts, and animals. In adolescent years, she enjoyed traveling with her Van Club. Later in life, she was part of the Tyler Longriders Motorcycle Club, and volunteered with many community events. She had a passion for helping her community, serving her church, and helping those in need. If you ever met Julie, her friendliness made everyone feel special and loved.
She had various jobs throughout the years, such as housekeeping, Hobby Lobby, Skits R US, and served ten years as a prison guard. Julie met her husband, Bobby “Bear” Mercer, in 2004 and were married soon after. They enjoyed music, football, and traveling together. Julie adored all of her children and grandchildren. She celebrated their unique personalities and passions by always being their “biggest fan”.
Julie is survived by her husband, Bobby Mercer, children John and Rachel Mercer, Devon and Nikki Mercer, Jessica and Cody Dillard, Miranda and John Greenlee, Melissa and Joseph Johnson, Jerrica and Gage McCoy. Julie’s grandchildren Manuel, Elena, Jillian, Ell’se, Charley, Davin, Dolly, DJ, Jackie, Ryker, Liam, Andrey-Jean, Bailey, and Nolan.
A time of visitation for Julie will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Hwy 64 West, Tyler, Texas 75704. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 12053 State Hwy 64 West, Tyler, Texas 75704. A committal service will follow Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 State Hwy 64 West, Tyler, Texas 75704.
