Service Judy Elizabeth Stokes, 55, of Van is scheduled for 1:30 P.M., Monday, April 5, 2010 at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Darlene Taft and Jerry Chase officiating with the burial to follow at Bascom Cemetery.
Mrs. Stokes went to be with her Lord and Saviour while surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, April 2, 2010 in Van.
She was born November 27, 1954 in Dallas to Thelma Harp Miskell and the late Rev. Oscar Miskell Sr. She graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in Dallas. She has lived in Van for the past 20 years and was a Pastor of Hosanna Full Gospel Church. She enjoyed singing and loved and chariest her dog, Roxie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Oscar Miskell Sr. and her husband, Rev. Truman Stokes.
She is survived by daughters, Amanda Jenkins and husband Leon of Lindale and Sandra Thornton and husband Kevin of Canton; mother, Thelma Miskell of Van; brothers, Oscar Miskell Jr. of Dallas and Jeff Miskell of Kaufman; sister, Susan Sanderson of Canton; step-sons, Gary Stokes of Keller, Ricky Stokes of Colleyville and Larry Stokes of Waco; 14 grandchildren, numerous nieces nephews and other relatives and her dog, Roxie.
Pallbearers are Jonathan Miskell, Tyler Sanderson, Oscar Miskell III, Seth Miskell, Stephen Miskell and Coleman Miskell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
