Services for Larry Crawley, 74, of Tyler will be held at 2 PM, Saturday September 22, 2012 at Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery in Tyler, Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, September 21, 6-8 PM.
Mr. Crawley went home to be with his savior on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
John Larry Crawley was born on April 11, 1938 in Tyler. He graduated from Tyler High in 1954, served with the National Guard, and was a used car sales manager and Vice President of Holley Motor Company for 28 years. He then was owner of Larry Crawley used cars of Tyler. He was a member of Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church, a member of St. John’s Lodge #53 of Tyler, T.B. Bonner Lodge #118 of Mt. Sylvan, member of Waco Scottish Rites, a 44 year member of Sharon Shrine and the last charter member of Sharon Shrine Oriental Band.
He is preceded in death by parents, Johnny Leonard and Mary Ellen Pool Crawley of Tyler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Lou Morgan Crawley brother, Tommy Crawley and wife Lynn of Mr. Sylvan; sons, Larry Bryan Crawley of Whitehouse, John Leslie Crawley of Bullard, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two special friends of family, Vonda V. and Ethel Ratcliff and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Brandon Crawley, Jeremy Crawley, Andrew Crawley, Brad Lewis, Danny Settle and Doug Palmer will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sharon Shrine Oriental band.
In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the Shriners Hospital Transportation Fund Sharon Temple; 10027 State Hwy 31 East, Tyler, TX 75705 or to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 university Blvd. Tyler, TX 75701.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Duane Andrews of Tyler, and also to all the staff, including nurses and aides of Hospice of East Texas for their wonderful care of our beloved husband, father and Papa.
