James Edward “Ed” Warren, 100, of Tyler, was born January 14, 1923 in Pollock, Texas, the son of the late Dollie (Hadaway) and William Lucian Warren. He passed away peaceful in his sleep on Friday, December 29, 2023, in Tyler.
Mr. Warren was retired sales manager for Electrolux. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He served his county in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was a devoted Christian and loved leading people to the Lord.
Survivors include his brother Jerry Warren and his wife Darceille Warren of Lufkin, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dollie Warren, his beloved wife of 61 years, Hazel West Warren, and his son Robert, and siblings, Sammie Warren, Murrell Koushel, Arthur “AC” Warren, William “Bill” Warren, Culbertson “Cubby” Warren, and Jirrel Warren Sr.
Pallbearers will be Fred Athey, Ed Bauman, David Boyd, Ed Hale, Steve Raskin, Jimmy Warren, Jerry Wayne Warren. Honorary Pallbearers, the staff of Watkins Logan Veterans Home in Tyler.
Visitation will be held at 11am Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 1st Church of the Nazarene in Lufkin. Services will be at noon with Pastor Mallori Rawls and Pastor Michael Rawls officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery.
