Hazel A. Brumitt, 97, of Whitehouse, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler. Mrs. Brumitt, a homemaker, was born on November 11, 1915 in Bunch, OK to Elmer Edwin and Mary Magdalene Wagner Temple. She was a longtime Tyler resident, a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was known for her prize winning quilt making as well as being a loving mother and grandmother. She married Paul E. Brumitt on April 8, 1938 in Anna, IL and Paul preceded her in death on April 12, 2010. She is survived by her son, Paul W., and his wife, Linda Brumitt of Whitehouse; daughter, Sue, and her husband Bill Ponder of Marshall; brother, Dean Temple of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, June Sedgnick of Marysville, WA and Jean Mills-Sedro of Wooley, WA; 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM, Friday, March 29, 2013 at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler; with Pastor John H. Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of East Texas, 513 W. First St., Tyler, TX 75701.
