In addition, she is survived by her two brothers, Bill Baade of Richardson and Charles Baade and his wife Lynn of Carrollton; two sisters, Mary Ann Sutton of Ft. Worth and Theresa Carter and her husband Woody of Richardson. Her surviving in-laws include her husband’s father, Roger Krueger and his wife Marcia of Frisco; brother-in-law Jim Krueger and his wife Sharon of Arlington. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Among Liz’s many people mourning her passing are her good friends, Danny and Bettie Smith Deshay, Melanie Baskerville and boys, and faithful employees Stanley, Felica, Cory and Linda.
Liz was born on July 31, 1958, in Waco to the late William J. and Edna Ruby Baade. She graduated from Riker High School and then attended Texas State Technical Institute, studying horticultural technology and floral design. It was there that she met her soul mate and lifelong best friend Raymond Krueger. The two were married on July 14, 1979.
Their wedding marked the beginning of not only their marriage, but also of a professional partnership in which they worked side-by-side almost every day. The couple moved to Tyler shortly after getting married and went to work at competing florist shops. Two years later, the couple bought out the other partners and became the sole owners of Jerry’s Flowers.
Since 1992, Liz and Raymond have operated their business, while rearing their daughter, Katie. Through their business associations, Liz became active in numerous organizations in Tyler. In addition to her commitments as a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Liz was active for several years in the Women’s Symphony League. She spent countless hours as a volunteer for both March of Dimes and Therapet, and she has faithfully served on numerous committees for the Texas Rose Festival, becoming involved in virtually every aspect of that annual event. Just this past year, she and Raymond were once again asked to design floral arrangements for the Rose Show, the Ladies’ Luncheon, the Queen’s Tea and the Queen’s Ball.
